Over the weekend we spent a night at Treebones Yurt resort. A yurt is a circular, transportable shelter originating in Asia. At Treebones, they are about 10m in diameter, heated, with a wash shink and some with full or partial ocean views. Treebones is on Highway 1, overlooking the Pacific and a mile north of Gorda. The attached restaraunt serves delectable locally sourced food.

All this for 300 dollars a night. This was a wedding gift to us and finally after a 7 month waiting period we got our night. Though comfortable, I wouldn’t spend that much on a hotel again nor would i spend (or maybe?) 95 dollars per night for the campsite (which is also booked well in advance) . Though if you’re passing do enjoy the restaraunt - the best nachos I’ve ever had.
